NU Online News Service, Oct. 2, 11:15 a.m. – Antares Management Solutions Inc., Westlake, Ohio, has updated its Connexion ii software package.
Health insurers can use the system to put membership, eligibility and claims information on the Web without actually connecting their databases to the Web.
Antares also sells versions of the package aimed at employers, health care providers, brokers and sales agents.
Antares has tried to make the new version easier for smaller insurers to use by giving the system the ability to work with Microsoft SQL Server software as well as DB2, a database system from International Business Machines Corp., Armonk, N.Y., that is aimed at companies that use mainframe computers and minicomputers.
The new version also comes with better tools for customizing colors, logos, fonts and other visual elements, and it complies with the new federal health information privacy regulations, Antares says.
