Agents worried that one of their carriers cannot function in the event of a disaster can rest a little easier after the announcement by Greenwich, Conn.based IVANS Inc., launching its Quick Start Remote Access Program.

If an insurance companys primary network fails or employees are forced to work from home, employees would be able to access corporate resources in a short amount of time under the program. This would be possible via dial-up access to applications through either the Internet, IVANS secure network or a virtual private network, a secure network run over the Internet, IVANS explains.

Under the program, members have instant access to 100 User IDs, which are issued and activated within hours of notice, IVANS says. A plan can be developed for more if needed. Companies are not charged for these IDs until they begin using them.
