Nationwide Makes McCausland Permanent Investment Chief

NU Online News Service, Sept. 26, 12:28 p.m. – Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Columbus, Ohio, has promoted Edwin McCausland Jr. to chief investment officer.

McCausland joined Nationwide in 1997 and most recently served as its acting chief investment officer.

Before McCausland went to work for Nationwide, he was a vice president at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass. He also spent eight years at The Phoenix Companies Inc., Hartford, and 11 years at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company, a company that was acquired by MassMutual.

McCausland has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Wheaton College and a master’s degree in business from the University of Hartford. He is chairman of the Investment Forum of the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation, London.
