NU Online News Service, Sept. 25, 10:35 a.m. – Rohm and Haas Company, Minneapolis, a large specialty chemicals manufacturer, has agreed to offer defined-contribution health coverage from Definity Health Inc., Minneapolis, to its 9,000 employees starting Jan. 1, 2003.

Defined-contribution health plans provide a combination of high-deductible health insurance and cash contributions to personal health reimbursement accounts that participants can use to pay for routine medical care.

Definity reports that more than 50 employers now offer employees its defined-contribution health coverage, and that 97% of the employees who participated in 2001 have re-enrolled for 2002.
