NU Online News Service, Sept. 19, 1:04 p.m. – Calypte Biomedical Corp., Alameda, Calif., says West Virginia insurance regulators have now approved use of its HIV-1 urine screening test in evaluations of West Virginia life insurance applicants.

The approval means that Calypte now has the approvals it needs to sell the test to life insurers in all 50 U.S. states.

Until now, life insurance underwriters in West Virginia have been limited to testing blood and saliva samples, Calypte says.
