Allstate Shakes Up Management

NU Online News Service, Sept. 12, 12:34 p.m. – The Allstate Corp., Northbrook, Ill., is shaking up its management team in an effort to increase its agents’ sales of life insurance and other financial services as well as property-casualty insurance.

Thomas Wilson, the chairman of Allstate Financial, will become president of Allstate Protection, the company’s property-casualty unit.

Wilson succeeds Richard Cohen, who is retiring after 34 years with Allstate.

Casey Sylla, Allstate’s acting chief financial officer, will succeed Wilson, and Samuel Pilch, Allstate’s controller, will succeed Sylla.

Allstate also announced the retirement of Frank Pollard, the company’s chief technology officer. Catherine Brune, a vice president in the company’s technology services unit, will be the new chief technology officer.
