NU Online News Service, Sept. 11, 11:05 a.m. – Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company, Glenview, Ill, has introduced the GTL Elite One whole life policy.

Guarantee has designed the policy for individuals who have mild to moderate health problems.

To qualify, an applicant must have a single health condition that is under control. The applicant must be complying with physician recommendations and leading a healthy lifestyle, Guarantee says.

Applicants with conditions eligible for consideration could include those who have hypertension, hepatitis C, depression, short stature or insulin-dependent diabetes.

Applicants who have abused drugs or alcohol in the past or currently smoke an occasional cigar are also eligible, Guarantee says.

Coverage face amounts start at $25,000.

Guarantee is distributing the new policy through its Impaired Risk Marketing unit.
