NU Online News Service, Sept. 3, 10:55 a.m. – Foresight Corp., Columbus, Ohio, has added the 12 new official “implementation guidelines addenda” for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act to its HIPAA Validator software.

Health insurers can use the software to make sure electronic communications comply with HIPAA, a federal law that sets electronic health communications standards.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently published the new implementation addenda to help companies figure out how to comply with previously released HIPAA regulations and implementation guidelines.

The 12 new addenda added to the HIPAA Validator software systems deal with the following transaction standards: 270, 271, 276, 277, 278 Request and Response, 820, 834, 835, 837P, 837I and 837D.
