NU Online News Service, Aug. 21, 10:57 a.m. – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C., has promoted David Pankau to chief operating officer and executive vice president of Companion HealthCare, a managed care subsidiary.
Pankau will oversee underwriting, marketing, finance, operations, health network services and care management.
Pankau previously was the senior vice president for marketing, finance, operations and underwriting for Companion HealthCare.
Before Pankau joined South Carolina Blue, he was a program manager for the State Health and Human Service Finance Commission. He helped develop statewide Medicaid reimbursement programs for children with disabilities.
Pankau has a bachelor?fs degree in health administration from Eastern Illinois University and a master?fs degree in public administration from the University of South Carolina.
