NU Online News Service, Aug. 19, 11:29 a.m. – The Union Central Life Insurance Company, Cincinnati, has elected John Jacobs chairman.
Jacobs, who was already president and chief executive of Union Central, succeeds Larry Pike as chairman.
Pike was chairman, president and chief executive from 1990 to 1998. He handed the title of president to Jacobs in 1998, and handed the title of chief executive to Jacobs in 2000.
Pike will continue to be a director of Union Central after he retires, the company says.
Jacobs has worked for Union Central for 21 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University and a master’s degree in business from Xavier University, and he holds the Chartered Life Underwriter professional designation.
Jacobs serves on the Steering Committee on Regulation for the American Council of Life Insurers, Washington, and on the executive committee of the Association of Ohio Life Insurance Companies, Columbus, Ohio.
