Humana Helps Florida Blue Set Up Claims System

NU Online News Service, Aug. 14, 2:55 p.m. – Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., is helping Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., set up a new system for handling Florida Blue's incoming electronic claims.

The new Availity Gateway system will comply with the electronic health data communications standards recently adopted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Florida Blue says.

Florida Blue hopes to receive all electronic claims through the system by October 2003.
