NU Online News Service, Aug. 2, 1:33 p.m. – Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company, Denver, has hired Richard Rivers to be executive vice president of its employee benefits division.
The division runs major medical plans and retirement savings plans for 11,000 U.S. employers.
Previously, Rivers was chief executive officer for the unit of PacifiCare Health Systems Inc., Cypress, Calif., that serves Colorado, Arizona and Oregon. Rivers also has been chief operating officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, Atlanta, a company recently acquired by WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks., Calif.
Great-West is an affiliate of Power Financial Corp., Winnipeg, Manitoba.
