ING Advisors Recasts Management Team

NU Online News Service, July 22, 2:21 p.m. – John Simmers, the new chief executive of the ING Advisors Network, Atlanta, has promoted four executives and organized a new executive team.

The network runs the U.S. independent broker-dealer distribution system for the ING Groep N.V., Amsterdam.

Simmers, who replaced Miles Gordon as chief executive of the unit after Gordon retired, has named Valerie Brown to be channels and national sales manager; Jackie Figliola to be head of operations and product; Jack Handy to be head of bank and independent channels; and Cindy Hamel to be chief operating officer.

All of the executives previously held other titles at ING.

The unit’s new executive team will include Simmers; Figliola; Brown; Handy; Hamel; Mark Marr, the chief financial officer; and Jack Conley and Marc Lieberman, who are chief executives of two ING Advisors broker-dealer firms.

The ING Advisors Network distributes financial services through 10,500 registered representatives at eight broker-dealer firms.

The firms are Financial Network Investment Corp., Torrance, Calif.; Washington Square Securities Inc., Minneapolis; Locust Street Securities Inc., Des Moines, Iowa; IFG Network Securities, Atlanta; PrimeVest Financial Services, St. Cloud, Minn.; VESTAX Securities Corp., Hudson, Ohio; Multi-Financial Securities Corp., Denver; and Financial Northeastern Corp., Fairfield, N.J.
