NU Online News Service, July 1, 4:12 p.m. – The Phoenix Companies Inc., Hartford, has promoted Michael Haylon to executive vice president and chief investment officer.

Haylon will report to Dona Young, the company’s president.

Haylon, who has spent 12 years at Phoenix, has a bachelor’s degree in economics and government from Bowdoin College and a master’s degree in business from the University of Connecticut.

Phoenix also announced the retirement of Carl Chadburn, the executive vice president of corporate services, and David Searfoss, the executive vice president of financial strategy.

Searfoss was the company’s chief financial officer. Phoenix gave him his current title earlier this year, when it named Coleman Ross to replace him as CFO.
