NU Online News Service, July 1, 1:28 p.m. – MetLife Inc., New York, put out a widely distributed press release today to promote two of its Life Advice consumer education brochures, “Making a Will” and “Establishing a Trust Fund.”

Both brochures are available on the Web at http://www.lifeadvice.com

MetLife, which has been trying to educate consumers about personal finance for generations, cites survey data suggesting that only 41% of Americans have a will.

“Without a will or other estate planning to indicate a deceased’s wishes, state statutes dictate how property will be distributed,” MetLife warns.

MetLife also points out in the release that trust funds can be useful for middle-income families as well as the wealthy.
