NU Online News Service, July 1, 1:56 p.m. – The Allstate Corp., Northbrook, Ill., says its Allstate Workplace Division will be selling a new Heritage Protector family of individual disability products at the worksite.

The first products in the family will be the Heritage Protector and the Heritage Protector Plus policies.

Workers will be able to apply for benefits equal to as much as 60% of income with a benefit minimum amount of $400 per month and a maximum of $7,000 per month. The policies will offer a choice of a 2-year benefit period, a 5-year benefit period, or a benefit period lasting until age 65.

Applicants can also choose from an elimination period of 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 180 days or 365 days.

In most states, policies are guaranteed renewable to age 65, Allstate says.

Optional riders include inflation protection and extra coverage for accidental death and dismemberment.
