Reliance Standard Life Is Doing Fine

NU Online News Service, June 28, 11:10 a.m. – Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company, Philadelphia, says you can rely on this: It is in no way connected to Reliance Group Holdings or Reliance Insurance Group, both of New York.

The Philadelphia company issued the announcement because of recent news that Pennsylvania is suing Reliance Group Holdings executives in connection with that company’s insolvency.

The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania ordered a Reliance Group affiliate into liquidation Oct. 3, 2001.

But the Reliance Group affiliate has absolutely nothing to do with Reliance Standard Life, says Lawrence E. Daurelle, president of Reliance Standard Life.

“We are a financially sound, thriving company,” Daurelle says.
