Canada Life Opens N.Y. Group Office

NU Online News Service, June 10, 11:26 a.m. – Canada Life Financial Corp., Toronto, has announced two moves in the U.S. group market.

The company’s Canada Life Insurance Company of New York unit has opened a new office in New York that will handle sales of group basic life insurance, voluntary life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.

The company hopes to begin selling group long-term disability insurance, group short-term disability insurance and group dental insurance in New York by the end of the year.

J. Garry McKenna Jr. will manage the New York group office. Previously, he was the group sales manager in Canada Life’s Atlanta group office.

In related news, Canada Life’s U.S. group division has agreed to market counseling and advice services from MenningerCare Systems, Addison, Texas, along with its group disability programs.
