BSA: Bank Investment Sales Up Sharply

NU Online News Service, June 10, 12:12 p.m. – U.S. bank brokers generated an average of $27,587 in investment sales in April, down 1.9% from March, but up 18% from the total for April 2001, according to the Bank Securities Association, Wayne, Pa.

Licensed bankers averaged $2,980 in production in April, up 12% from the previous month, and up 22% from the comparable month in 2001, the BSA says.

The BSA’s index of bank broker-dealer revenue rose to 137, from 129 in March. The index is based on a benchmark of 100 set in 1998.
