NU Online News Service, May 23, 2:59 p.m. – SecurityBlue, a Medicare health maintenance organization owned by Highmark Inc., Pittsburgh, will eliminate co-payments for hospital stays and hospital outpatient procedures June 1.

SecurityBlue is making the change because hospitals and members have complained about the administrative burdens involved with making and collecting the co-payments, Highmark says.

SecurityBlue, the fifth-largest Medicare HMO plan in the United States, has 187,000 members in Western Pennsylvania.
