NU Online News Service, May 20, 4:33 p.m. – The Missouri Department of Insurance has added detailed company and product line information to its Web site.

The company data collection is at http://www.insurance.state.mo.us/consumer/companies.htm

The company data collection provides the licensing history of each company authorized to do business in Missouri. The collection also gives the types of insurance the company can write, its market share, its loss information and its complaint statistics.

The Missouri department plans to expand the collection to include more operating information and financial information about health maintenance organizations.

A second feature, a product line data collection, gives information about all the insurers that write specific lines of insurance coverage. The tool now provides data for 1999 and 2000, and it will soon include 2001 data, the Missouri department says.

The product line tool is available at http://www.insurance.state.mo.us/reports/suppdata.htm
