Aetna Names Williams President

NU Online News Service, May 17, 11:05 a.m. – Aetna Inc., Hartford, has named Ronald A. Williams president effective May 27. He succeeds John W. Rowe, who will remain chairman and chief executive officer.

Williams will continue to lead Aetna’s health business, and its group insurance, large-case pensions and national medical services units will also report to him.

Williams will continue to be a member of the Office of the Chairman, along with Rowe; David B. Kelso, executive vice president for strategy and finance; and L. Edward Shaw Jr., general counsel. Kelso and Shaw will continue to report to Rowe, Aetna says.
