NU Online News Service, May 10, 2:41 p.m. – Standard Insurance Company, a unit of StanCorp Financial Group, Portland, Ore., says it is now starting to sell group dental products with Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., Omaha, Neb.
Standard and Ameritas first announced their group dental alliance in February.
Standard is handling sales, claims processing and support systems and assuming most of the insurance risk involved with issuing the policies.
Ameritas is handling dental network management, underwriting, training and sales support, and it is also assuming a small portion of the insurance risk.
Standard says it hopes to become as significant a player in the group dental market as it already is in the group life and group disability markets.
