NU Online News Service, May 3, 12:30 p.m. – The MIB Group Inc., Westwood, Mass., says its MIB Compliance Training Services unit is introducing a HIPAA Privacy Primer.
The primer is a 30-minute, Web-based training program that gives workers in the insurance industry the information they need to know about the new federal privacy rules established to implement the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
The rules require insurers and other “covered entities” to maintain regular privacy training programs, MIB notes.
The MIB system offers six quiz formats and gives managers tools they can use to monitor employees’ progress.
