NU Online News Service, May 1, 2:59 p.m. – CNA Financial Corp., Chicago, says its group benefits unit is introducing the Independent Solutions group long-term care insurance program.

The program offers a range of coverage and benefits options designed for employer-sponsored plans with 25 or more enrolled employees.

Employers can either offer the program on an entirely voluntary, employee-paid basis, or they can pay for a minimum set of core benefits and give employees a chance to buy more coverage, CNA says.

Employers can offer program coverage to retirees, employees’ spouses, and employees’ parents, grandparents and in-laws as well as to the employees themselves.

The group LTC program policies will be underwritten by Continental Casualty Company or CNA Group Life Assurance Company, two CNA affiliates.
