NU Online News Service, April 24, 11:56 a.m. – The Life Insurers’ Council, Atlanta, and the National Alliance of Life Companies, Rosemont, Ill., are calling off their merger plans, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

The merger, first announced in November, was scheduled to be completed June 1.

LIC is part of the Life Office Management Association, Atlanta.

Scott Cipinko, now the NALC executive director, will be joining the LOMA staff, but Dawn Bergsma, the NALC office manager, will be sticking with the NALC, the source says.
