CMS, McKesson Get Colorado Job

NU Online News Service, April 9, 12:46 p.m. – CMS Health Integrated L.L.C., Tampa, Fla., and a unit of McKesson Health Corp., are teaming up to provide a disease management program for members of CoverColorado, a nonprofit health insurance program for Colorado residents who are unable to buy health insurance from conventional insurers.

All 5,000 CoverColorado members have conditions that interfere with their efforts to buy health coverage, but the disease management program will focus on the 3,000 members who have chronic, high-cost health problems, such as asthma, diabetes, congestive heart failure and depression.

Program nurses will give members general advice and help coordinate services for members in need of catastrophic care or especially complicated care.
