NU Online News Service, April 9, 12:20 p.m. – The American Council of Life Insurers, Washington, is setting up a new program, Insurers International, for non-U.S. life insurers and reinsurers that want to get involved with ACLI.

ACLI helps shape U.S. financial services trade policies and regulations, and it has traditionally excluded non-U.S. carriers from full membership.

But executives from carriers that join the Insurers International program can talk to top U.S. life executives and learn more about the U.S. life market, ACLI says.

Carriers that have already joined Insurers International include three large Japanese insurers, three Bermuda reinsurers, and a Brazilian insurer.
