NU Online News Service, April 8, 11:14 a.m. – MetLife Investors Distribution Company, Newport Beach, Calif., has promoted Ed Wilson to executive vice president of the wirehouse channel.
MetLife Inc. formed the MetLife Investors unit to build sales through channels other than its traditional career agent sales force.
Wilson will now be in charge of MetLife’s relationship with Merrill Lynch & Company Inc., New York, and other big, national securities brokers. Previously, Wilson was in charge of the company’s broker-dealer channel.
Wilson joined MetLife Investors in May 2001. Before he went to work for MetLife, he helped set up a nonproprietary distribution operation at New York Life Insurance Company, New York.
