NU Online News Service, March 22, 11:55 a.m. – WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif., says its Blue Cross of California and UNICARE Life & Health Insurance Company units will offer a new, Web-based health insurance application process starting Monday.
Prospective clients visiting a Blue Cross- or UNICARE-appointed agent Web site will be able to complete and submit applications for individual and family health insurance coverage online, WellPoint says.
Consumers can research plans and rates, search for providers and submit a digitally signed application 24-hours a day, seven days a week, WellPoint says.
Agents earn full commissions on the electronically submitted applications.
