Florida Blue Names Lufrano President

NU Online News Service, March 22, 3:33 p.m. – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Jacksonville, Fla., has named Dr. Robert Lufrano president.

Lufrano previously was the company’s chief operating officer and chief executive officer of its health maintenance organization subsidiary.

Lufrano joined Florida Blue, a plan with 6 million members, in 1990, after managing emergency medicine, ambulatory care, medical affairs and program development at Lutheran General Healthcare System, Chicago, Ill.

Lufrano has a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, a master’s degree in business from Northwestern University and a medical degree from Loyola University.
