Equitable Distributors Inc., New York, has launched Online Wholesaler–a Web-based extension of its wholesaler and resource center for financial professionals.

EDI is the major wholesale distribution arm of AXA Financial, New York. It distributes the variable annuity and variable life insurance product portfolios of the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S. through a multi-channel distribution platform including financial institutions, banks, broker/dealers and financial planners.

According to EDI, Online Wholesalers Web-enabled tools are designed to assist wholesalers switch from a traditional product sales approach to a model driven by the ability to provide a number of resources and customer solutions.

Among the products offerings is an “insights and news” feature that provides online access to information and instructional material, the company notes. That material includes News from Equitable, Advanced Markets, and Money Managers, providing overviews of each fund manager and their investment strategy, as well as portfolio fact sheets, fund benchmarks, and manager biographies, EDI says.

“Tools and resources” is a feature aimed at helping brokers and financial advisors manage and grow their businesses, EDI says.

Through Online Wholesaler, advisors can access product applications, marketing brochures, a lead generation network and continuing education credits, the company says. Advisors can also use the tool to order forms, sales kits and product information.

Online Wholesaler also allows advisors to benefit from EDIs partnership with Webex, Inc.–a Web-based interactive presentation service that enables the delivery of real time, online sales and training presentations to planners and brokers.
