Westover To Run CIGNA Dental

NU Online News Service, March 5, 2:54 p.m. – CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, has named Sam Westover president of CIGNA Dental, a unit that provides dental coverage for 13 million U.S. residents.

Westover succeeds Kevin Tylus, who was named senior vice president of distribution for CIGNA Health Services.

Westover was founder, president and chief executive officer of OrthAlliance, a publicly traded, California-based company that provided practice management services to orthodontic and pediatric dental practices.

He has also been chief financial officer of WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and a special assistant to Utah Gov. Michael Leavitt.

He began his career as an accountant.
