NU Online News Service, March 5, 12:44 p.m. – PacifiCare Health Systems Inc., Santa Ana, Calif., a large managed care company, has named BenefitMall Inc., Dallas, its exclusive general agent in California for small-group medical coverage.
BenefitMall will be responsible for marketing PacifiCare plans for groups with two to 50 members to brokers.
BenefitMall has been one of the pioneers in the effort to use the Web to distribute benefits products to brokers, rather than using the Web to sell health insurance and related products straight to consumers.
