NU Online News Service, Feb. 25, 2:52 p.m. – American Skandia Life Assurance Corp., Shelton, Conn., is celebrating the success of two U.S. women bobsledders, Jill Bakken and Vonetta Flowers, in the recently completed winter Olympics.
Bakken and Flowers won a gold medal in the women’s bobsledding event while wearing the American Skandia logo on their uniforms and sleds..
American Skandia signed a six-year agreement to support the U.S. women’s bobsled team as a whole back in 1996, while women’s bobsledders were struggling to get women’s bobsledding into the Olympics.
American Skandia is a unit of Skandia Insurance Company Ltd., Stockholm.
