NU Online News Service, Feb. 15, 3:21 p.m. – FINEOS Corp., Dublin, Ireland, says its new Portland, Maine, office has won a contract to provide a disability insurance claims management system for Fortis Benefits Insurance Company, Kansas City, Mo.
Fortis Benefits is a unit of Fortis, Brussels.
FINEOS has sold many systems to financial services companies in Europe, but the Fortis Benefits deal is its first sale in North America, the company says.
The Fortis Benefits system can take claims through the telephone, electronic mail and facsimile transmissions, then keep track of the claims process. Fortis Benefits can also add a Web-based self-service system, FINEOS says.
