Dalbar Honors Annuity Operations

NU Online News Service, Feb. 15, 5:11 p.m. – Dalbar Inc., Boston, has announced its 2001 financial services quality awards and some 2002 awards.

The financial services consulting firm gave its 2001 Dalbar Service Award to U.S. financial services operations that “exceed industry norms in key service areas.”

The annuity operations that won the service awards are affiliated with Allianz A.G., Munich; Allmerica Financial Corp., Worcester, Mass.; Ameritas Acacia Mutual Holding Company, Lincoln, Neb.; AXA, Paris; General Electric Capital Corp., Stamford, Conn.; Guardian Life Insurance Company, New York; Hartford Financial Services Inc., Hartford; Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, Omaha, Neb.; Nationwide Financial Services Inc., Columbus, Ohio; New York Life Insurance Company, New York; Pacific Life Insurance Company, Newport Beach, Calif.; Prudential Financial Inc., Newark, N.J.; and Putnam Investments, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., New York.

Dalbar also gave out 2001 Crystal Pyramid customer satisfaction awards. The U.S. operations that received awards involving annuities are affiliated with Hartford; John Hancock Financial Services Inc., Boston; Pacific Life; Skandia Insurance Company Ltd., Stockholm; Sun Life Financial Services of Canada Inc., Toronto; and Western-Southern Financial Group Inc., Cincinnati.

Dalbar gave 2001 or 2002 “Communications Seal” awards to recognize excellence in financial services documents and communications programs. Winning efforts with names that include the words “retirement,” “annuity” or related terms in their titles were submitted by operations affiliated with AXA; Charles Schwab Corp., San Francisco; Hartford; J. & W. Seligman & Company Inc., New York; Lincoln National Corp., Fort Wayne, Ind.; Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto; Merrill Lynch & Company Inc., New York; Principal Financial Group, Des Moines, Iowa; SunAmerica, a unit of American International Group Inc., New York; and Travelers, a unit of Citigroup Inc., New York.

Dalbar gave out only three 2001 Key Honors. GE Capital won the award in the annuity category. The Key Honor award recognizes consistently good service, Dalbar says.
