NU Online News Service, Feb. 12, 2:09 p.m. – Standard Insurance Company, Portland, Ore., says it will be building a major group dental operation with help from Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., Lincoln, Neb.
Standard is a unit of StanCorp Financial Group Inc. and Ameritas is a unit of Ameritas Acacia Mutual Holding Company.
Ameritas will provide managed-care systems, claims-processing systems, underwriting, training, and marketing and sales support. It will also share some of the risk associated with the dental policies, Standard says.
Standard will write and administer the group dental plans from its home office and put its sales representatives to work selling the dental coverage through an alliance with Ameritas by the end of June, Standard adds.
