Web-Based Service Pre-Underwrites Applicants

NU Online News Service, Feb. 6, 2:44 p.m. – Guaranteed Quotes, Edmond, Okla., has picked services from e-Nable Corp., Westwood, Mass., and DataLife, Verona, N.J., to help set up its Web-based medical underwriting and life insurance brokerage service.

Guaranteed says it can cut medical underwriting costs and speed up processing times for applicants for life, disability and long-term care insurance.

Guaranteed puts applicants through a full array of medical tests, then asks insurers to give it quotes on the pre-underwritten applications.

Guaranteed is using the Insurance e-Nable system from e-Nable help it with the underwriting, according to e-Nable.

E-Nable Corp. is a joint venture owned by MIB Inc., Westwood, Mass.; Tobat Capital L.L.C., Dallas, a venture capital firm; and Hooper Holmes Inc., Basking Ridge, N.J., a company that conducts physical exams of insurance applicants for insurance companies.

Guaranteed will use services from DataLife to submit, track and store the applicant information, e-Nable says.
