NU Online News Service, Feb. 6, 3:54 p.m. – HealthExtras Inc., Rockville, Md., is reporting a $6.8 million net loss for the fourth quarter of 2001 on $124 million in revenue, compared with a net loss of $17 million on $44 million in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2000.

The company, which has had a long-standing marketing relationship with the actor Christopher Reeve, was one of the pioneers in the effort to sell accidental disability insurance and other supplemental health insurance products through the Web, but it recently acquired control of a pharmacy benefit management company, Catalyst Rx Inc., Las Vegas, Nev.

HealthExtras will be putting more emphasis on pharmacy benefit services and less on Web sales of supplemental health insurance, the company says.
