NU Online News Service, Jan. 30, 3:26 p.m. – John Hancock Life Insurance Company, Boston, has introduced eHansel, a Web-based life insurance sales and illustration system.

Hancock, a unit of John Hancock Financial Services Inc., stores the data on its own servers. Agents can reach the system through any computer with Web access.

The eHansel system includes information about the exact policies sold in each state.

Agents can choose between doing quick, standardized illustrations, using preprogrammed assumptions, or taking the time to enter plan design assumptions themselves, Hancock says.

Agents can also use the system to analyze the performance of policies that are already in force, Hancock says.
