NU Online News Service, Jan. 28, 12:25 p.m. – Health Net Inc., Los Angeles, says Steven Erwin, its chief financial officer, is “leaving the company after a transition period to pursue other interests.”

Marvin Rich, who resigned as president of WebMD Corp., Elmwood Park, N.J., in September 2001, will take over as the executive vice president for finance and operations.

Rich will direct finance, health plan operations and information technology, Health Net says.

Rich was once executive vice president of finance and information systems at WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Oxford Health Plans Inc., Trumbull, Conn., hired Rich in 1998 to help it overcome computer and accounting problems that nearly destroyed the company.

Rich later started Medical Manager, a medical information company. He became president of WebMD in September 2000, after WebMD acquired Medical Manager.
