NU Online News Service, Jan. 14, 9:37 a.m. – LOMA, Atlanta, is acquiring control of the Life Insurance Institute of Canada, Toronto, through a merger.

LIIC will continue to operate out of Canada, but it will become a LOMA council, the groups say.

Debbie Cole, the LIIC executive director, will become a LOMA employee.

The LIIC board unanimously supports the merger, LIIC says.

LIIC is a non-profit association representing 42 Canadian life and health insurance companies.

LOMA is an international group that focuses on improving insurance company and financial services company operations.
