Pacific Life Sponsors Tennis Tournament

NU Online News Service, Jan. 11, 12:23 p.m. – Pacific Life Insurance Company, Newport Beach, Calif., has agreed to sponsor the professional tennis tournament scheduled for March 4-17 in Indian Wells, Calif.

The tournament, a Tennis Masters Series and Sanex WTA Tour Tier I event, will now be called the Pacific Life Open, according to tournament organizers.

The men’s tournament was previously called the Newsweek Championship, and the women’s tournament was previously called the Evert Cup.

The title sponsorship agreement also includes an option for Pacific Life to sponsor the 2003 and 2004 tournaments, organizers say.
