NU Online News Service, Jan. 7, 11:25 a.m. – PacifiCare Health Systems Inc., Santa Ana, Calif., has hired Joseph Konowiecki as its full-time, in-house general counsel.
Konowiecki has been advising PacifiCare since 1979 as head of an independent law firm, Konowiecki & Rank, Los Angeles, PacifiCare says.
PacifiCare, which recently announced a major corporate restructuring, says Konowiecki will be responsible for legal and corporate affairs, regulatory compliance, and “strategic initiatives.”
Konowiecki helped PacifiCare acquire FHP International, a large managed care company, in 1997, PacifiCare says.
Konowicki has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and a law degree from the Hastings College of Law.
