NU Online News Service, Jan. 4, 12:05 p.m. – The Alabama Department of Insurance has picked Troy State University, Troy, Ala., to administer the 2002 insurance agent licensing exam.

The Sorrell College of Business, the Troy State business school, will give the $48 test from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in Bibb Graves Hall. Applicants who want to take the exam during regular business hours should call the college at least one business day in advance.

Applicants can also make arrangements to take tests in the evenings and on weekends, the university says.

In the past, the university says, registering for the exam took several weeks, and applicants often had to wait six weeks or more to learn whether they had passed. Sorrell College plans to grade the exams immediately after they are taken.

More information is available from Sorrell College, at 334-670-3633 or 334-670-3290.
