ClarkBardes Pays $600,000 For Actuarial Firm

NU Online News Service, Dec. 26, 3:05 p.m. – Clark/Bardes Consulting Inc., Barrington, Ill., says it has bought Coates Kenney Inc., Berkeley, Calif., for $600,000 in cash.

Clark/Bardes has also agreed to pay the current owners of Coates Kenney $600,000 in Clark/Bardes stock over three years, if Coates Kenney meets performance goals.

Coates Kenney sells actuarial services to retirement plans and retiree medical plans.

Clark/Bardes is a benefits and compensation consulting firm that raised cash by selling stock to the public in August 1998. The Coates Kenney deal is the 18th Clark/Bardes has announced since it completed the public offering, Clark/Bardes reports.
