NU Online News Service, Dec. 20, 2:01 p.m. – Fidelity Employers Services Company, Merrimack, N.H., says it now administers 10,000 employee benefit programs for 11 million U.S. workers.

Fidelity Employers is the benefits arm of mutual fund giant Fidelity Investments.

Fidelity established the unit in the mid-1990s to handle benefits services for the employers that used its 401(k) plan services. The company added payroll services, defined benefit pension plan administration, and health and welfare plan administration in 2000.

Fidelity Employers communicates with plan members through the NetBenefits site. The company says it recently improved the health education section by adding information from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
