NU Online News Service, Dec. 3, 4:27 p.m. – Univest Corp. of Pennsylvania, Souderton, Pa., has acquired Gum Insurance, Lansdale, Pa., from the Turner Group of Parsippany, N.J.
Univest is the parent company of Union National Bank; Pennview Savings Bank; Fin-Plan Group, an investment advisory firm in Wayne; and George Becker Associates, an agency in Doylestown.
Gum Insurance provides employee benefits, disability and group insurance for individuals and for commercial clients as well as property and casualty insurance. Founded in 1922, the agency serves clients primarily in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Cindy Gum, regional vice president for the Turner Group, says the acquisition will enable Gum customers to take advantage of Univest financial products.
