NU Online News Service, Nov. 12, 3:57 p.m. – Healthaxis Inc., Irving, Texas, a company that develops Web-based health insurance communications systems, says it has added James Hopkins, a corporate turnaround specialist, to its board.

Hopkins most recently was chairman of Micrografx, Dallas, a desktop software company that was acquired by Corel Corp., Ottawa, Ontario; and a strategic planning executive with 3dfx Interactive Inc.; San Jose, Calif., a failed maker of specialty microchips.

Hopkins started out working as an investment banker with Hoak, Breedlove, Wesneski & Company, Dallas.

Healthaxis has also dropped two members who joined its board when it acquired an insurance data software company in January 2000. The departing board members are Gregory Mutz and Patrick McLaughlin.
